Xiberoots es una banda de música reggae formada por seis jóvenes de la zona de Maule (Zuberoa, Europa). Ellos son Jon Etxekopar (voz y trombón), Pette Jaragoihen (guitarra y voz), Jordi Foucher (percusiones), Niko Guiresse (teclados), Antoine Stassinet (guitarra) y Armand Ahusborde (guitarra). Además de ser amantes de la canción tradicional vasca, los miembros de Xiberoots destilan una enorme y sincera pasión por estilos de origen más jamaicano y caribeño, como el ska, el raggamuffin o el reggae. "Maule muffin" (2018) es su potente debut y, sin duda, se ha convertido en una de las mejores referencias discográficas que ha dado la escena musical del País Vasco en estos últimos 15 años.
El disco "Maule muffin" es un reflejo muy vivo de toda esa remezcla de tradición folk y modernidad reggae que representan las sensacionales canciones del grupo Xiberoots. Este CD contiene diez cortes donde tienen cabida hasta cuatro versiones de piezas clásicas dentro del cancionero folk euskaldun, como el himno "Agur Xiberoa", el revolucionario emblema "Kalera, Kalera", "Euskalduna naiz eta" del grupo folk Guk, o el sobrecogedor "Ni naiz" del desaparecido poeta vasco Xabier Lete... ¡Una gran sorpresa!
Xiberoots euskal reggae taldeak 2013. urtean sortu bazen ere, bere lehen diskoa aurten kaleratu du. "Maule muffin" (2018) diskolan ederrean 10 kantu bildu dituzte, horietarik 6 kantu Jon Etxekopar jaunak idatziak omen dira, aldiz, beste 4 kantu oso bertsio bitxi eta dotoreak dira. Esate baterako, "Agur, Xiberoa", Xavier Lete poetaren "Ni Naiz", Guk taldearen "Euskalduna naiz eta..." edota "Kalera kalera” ereserki iraultzaile euskaldun ahaztezina.

Xiberoots is a Basque reggae music band formed by six young people from Maule (Zuberoa, Europe). They are Jon Etxekopar (voice and trombone), Pette Jaragoihen (guitar and voice), Jordi Foucher (percussion), Niko Guiresse (keyboards), Antoine Stassinet (guitar) and Armand Ahusborde (guitar). Besides being lovers of the traditional Basque song, the members of Xiberoots exude an enormous and sincere passion for styles of Jamaican and Caribbean origin, such as ska, raggamuffin or reggae.
